Police officers don't imagine having to deal with anything worse than the bad guys, but for most that's just the beginning.
"As a police officer you have to learn to control your emotions," says Kamloops RCMP Const. Helena James, a policing veteran with almost 17 years of service. "You work really hard to hide how things are affecting you because you have to be the strong one when everything is falling down around you."
